My name is Ofek Tseguyeh. I was born in Ethiopia and I would like to invite you to visit an Ethiopian house – or in my native language, a Tukul - that we built on Kibbutz Samar in the Southern Arava of Israel (Chevel Eilot region).
The main purpose of our Tukul is to preserve and pass on the tradition I grew up with. In addition, we hope that those who are not part of the Ethiopian community can also learn from it.
A Tukul is an Ethiopian house made from wood, straw and mud. The house is divided into living spaces, a cooking area and a storage space.
I would like to invite you to visit our Ethiopian Tukul and to join in the many activities and experiences.
